Taube på Gröna Lund

Evert Taube had a special connection to Gröna Lund. His classic quote “I’d rather stand on Gröna Lund’s Main stage than sit in the Swedish Academy” speaks to his love for the place – and its audience. The very first concert took place as early as 12 July 1945, when Taube himself stepped on stage and performed his treasured songs. For many years, his appearances became a natural part of summer evenings at the amusement park – a tradition later carried on by his son, Sven-Bertil Taube.

In the 2010s, the tradition was revived through tribute concerts where Sven-Bertil Taube invited secret guest artists, a much-loved surprise that quickly became part of the concept.

Now the tradition returns. Lisa Nilsson, one of Sweden’s most beloved voices, leads the evening together with Augustifamiljen. The audience can also look forward to secret guests who bring their own touch to Taube’s timeless songs.

“Taube at Gröna Lund” will be a summer evening where cross-generational music meets history, and where Evert Taube’s songs are brought to life anew in a modern interpretation – right on the stage he loved most.
