    Jason "Timbuktu" Diakité is one of Scandinavia's most popular artists, and in recent years has also become well known outside the hip-hop milieu. He has established himself as an influential political artist who draws musical inspiration from folk music, American blues and music from West Africa and Jamaica.

    With hits such as "Alla vill till himmelen men ingen vill dö", "Det löser sig" and "The botten is nådd" he is known for being able to create an incredibly festive atmosphere - but his music reaches more dimensions than that, something that became clearly already in 2011 when he was awarded the Nordic Council's language prize.

    Timbuktu's catalog is full of colorful songs and as anyone who has ever attended the rap legend's concerts can tell you, it's an extraordinary live experience.
    This summer he has with him the phenomenal trio Esther Kirabo, Julimar Santos and DJ Large and together they will return the live show to the roots of hip-hop. On August 12 at 20.00 we welcome Timbuktu back to Gröna Lund's Big Stage.
